Pacifica Hospital of the Valley

Director of Quality Improvement/Risk Management

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced healthcare leader to oversee and elevate our hospital-wide Quality Management and Risk Management programs. In this vital leadership role, you will serve as the primary expert on clinical quality standards, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across our acute care, psychiatric, and long-term care facilities. You will collaborate closely with medical staff, executives, and department personnel to foster a high standard of patient care, operational excellence, and continuous survey readiness. What You'll Do As the champion for quality and compliance, you will guide our organization through regulatory landscapes established by CDPH, CMS, Joint Commission, and California state guidelines. You will analyze patient care data, translate complex metrics into actionable insights, and lead peer review, case management, and corrective action initiatives. Beyond the data, you will serve as an essential mentor and resource to physicians and hospital staff—building proactive quality improvement plans, streamlining authorization and appeal processes, and driving a culture of safety and accountability.

What We're Looking For Education & Credentials:

A Bachelor's degree (minimum) with an active California RN license, or a Master's in Public Health (MPH).

Experience:

At least 5 years of hands-on experience in clinical data collection, quality improvement, utilization management, and regulatory survey readiness.

Skills:

Strong working knowledge of acute, psychiatric, and long-term care regulations; proven ability to present data clearly; and excellent interpersonal skills to motivate teams, collaborate with physicians, and maintain a supportive, adaptable work environment.

Location:

Pacifica Hospital of the Valley

Administration Schedule:

Full Time, Days, 09:00am-5:00pm
