Position:
As the Fintech Partnerships Risk Manager, you will serve as the lead in assessing, monitoring, and supporting risk management activities related to fintech partnerships. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout the Bank to assess fintech partners and associated products, identify gaps, and ensure action items are appropriately documented, prioritized, tracked, escalated, and completed. Action items may be identified through onboarding and initial due diligence, ongoing periodic reviews, program reviews, audits, examinations, or other risk assessments. You will serve as a bridge between the Banking-as-a-Service committee, risk management, subject matter experts, and fintech partners to ensure reviews are thorough, cohesive, and accurately reflect the risk landscape.
What You Will Do:
Conduct initial due diligence and ongoing periodic reviews of fintech partnerships and programs in order to prepare comprehensive risk memos and related risk documentation. Serve as the primary owner for coordinating action items identified through onboarding, initial due diligence, ongoing periodic reviews, program reviews, audits, examinations, and other risk assessments. Partner with subject matter experts throughout the Bank to understand identified gaps, clarify expectations, connect related risks across functional areas, and translate feedback into clear, actionable next steps. Prioritize action items based on risk, urgency, regulatory impact, and business need, and escalate appropriately when timelines, ownership, or completion expectations are at risk. Maintain detailed and consistent documentation of action items, ownership, target dates, status updates, supporting evidence, and completion outcomes. Drive action items through completion by coordinating across internal stakeholders, fintech partners, and business owners to ensure identified gaps are addressed in a timely and well-documented manner. Compile and synthesize information and feedback from functional areas and subject matter experts to ensure risk reviews reflect how products, partnerships, programs, controls, and action items work together. Ensure supporting documentation, subject matter feedback, periodic reviews, and action item tracking adequately support risk memos and related governance materials. Anticipate and respond to periodic examination and audit requests regarding fintech partnerships, programs, products, and related action item status. Independently identify gaps, risks, and areas requiring further consideration, including action items that may need to be created or escalated. When necessary, communicate directly with fintech partners to clarify expectations, obtain documentation, and support timely resolution of identified action items. Proactively suggest improvements to fintech programs, review processes, action item tracking, and documentation standards. Stay informed about industry best practices, applicable regulations, and emerging technology in an effort to integrate changes and improve review processes.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field required Minimum of five years of experience in risk management, compliance, regulatory examinations, audits, fintech partnerships, financial services, or a related area Previous experience with Banking as a Service (BaaS) platforms is preferred Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles, with the ability to connect operational, compliance, regulatory, business, and partner considerations into a cohesive view of risk Proven ability to develop professional, productive and collaborative working relationships Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability identify and address gaps Ability to translate regulatory, audit, examination, risk review, and subject matter expert feedback into clear action items, owners, timelines, and follow-up expectations Ability to compile complex information into cohesive and actionable reports Strong collaboration and communication skills Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to maintain consistent documentation, track open items, follow up with urgency, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks Proactive and independent, with strong prioritization, ownership, and follow-through skills to drive action items and projects to completion across multiple stakeholders Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant applications
Working Conditions/Demands:
Professional office setting. Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
