This is a full-time, on-site leadership position for a highly experienced tax professional who will play a key role in overseeing the firm's tax practice, providing sophisticated tax planning and advisory services, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The Director of Tax will be responsible for managing complex tax engagements, overseeing the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns, and providing strategic tax planning and consulting services to businesses, real estate entities, and high-net-worth individuals. The Director will work closely with firm leadership and clients to identify tax planning opportunities, address complex tax issues, and develop solutions that support clients' financial and business objectives. In addition to technical tax responsibilities, the Director will provide leadership and mentorship to tax professionals, oversee workflow and engagement quality, contribute to the continued growth of the firm's tax practice, and play an active role in developing and strengthening client relationships. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA certification required Minimum of 15 years of progressive tax accounting experience, within a public accounting firm Significant experience with tax compliance and planning for partnerships, LLCs, S corporations, C corporations, and high-net-worth individuals Strong experience with real estate taxation, including real estate partnerships and complex ownership structures Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and resolve complex tax issues Proven experience managing multiple client engagements and deadlines Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop, and lead tax professionals Strong business development and networking skills with the ability to identify opportunities to expand client relationships and the firm's tax practice Responsibilities Serve as a senior tax advisor to business owners, high-net-worth individuals, real estate investors, and other sophisticated clients, providing strategic tax planning and consulting throughout the year. Identify tax-saving opportunities and develop proactive strategies aligned with clients' financial, business, and investment objectives, including guidance on significant transactions and business events. Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for partnerships, LLCs, S corporations, C corporations, real estate entities, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals, identifying technical issues and planning opportunities. Research and interpret complex federal, state, and local tax legislation and regulations; monitor legislative developments and assess their potential impact on clients and the firm's tax practice. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and serve as a trusted advisor by proactively identifying client needs and opportunities for additional tax and advisory services. Communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively, lead client meetings and presentations, and collaborate with firm leadership to strengthen client relationships, retention, and business development.
