Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Repossession Specialist to join our financial services team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the recovery of delinquent accounts by coordinating repossession activities in compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Responsibilities Initiate and coordinate repossession activities for delinquent accounts, ensuring adherence to all applicable consumer protection laws and industry regulations. Communicate effectively with clients, debtors, and third-party vendors via phone, email, and written correspondence to negotiate repayment or asset recovery terms. Conduct thorough account analysis using Excel data analysis techniques and accounting software to identify discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and evaluate account status. Handle confidential information with integrity, ensuring compliance with financial regulatory standards and safeguarding sensitive data. Manage accounts receivable processes by tracking payments, updating account records, and ensuring accurate account reconciliation. Utilize telemarketing skills to follow up on overdue accounts, schedule appointments, and facilitate resolution strategies. Maintain detailed documentation of all repossession activities, including incident reports, logs, and client communications for audit purposes. Experience Proven experience in debt collection negotiation, consumer protection laws, or collections account management within a financial services environment. Strong background in accounting and finance concepts such as debits & credits, revenue cycle management, and account analysis. Familiarity with financial software applications including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), accounting software, and specialized repossession or collection systems. Excellent phone etiquette combined with effective verbal communication skills for client interaction and negotiation. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations related to financial compliance and debt collection practices. Ability to analyze data efficiently using Excel for insights into account status and performance metrics. Prior experience handling confidential information responsibly while ensuring compliance with all relevant legal standards.
