Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Tax Manager to join a UHNW family office in Miami with a diverse portfolio of domestic and international investments and businesses. The Tax Manager will play a key role in coordinating tax affairs across a complex portfolio that includes real estate, operating businesses, investment entities, partnerships, trusts, and other domestic and international assets. This position is part of a 5-person finance team and will serve as a liaison to third-party financial consultants, legal advisors, and other external professionals. The ideal candidate has strong technical tax knowledge, excellent project management and communication skills, and strong organizational abilities. They should be comfortable handling confidential matters, managing stakeholders, identifying tax planning opportunities, and addressing tax issues proactively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate federal, state, local, and international tax compliance across family office entities and investments. Oversee outside tax advisors and ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns, estimates, K-1s, and related filings. Support tax planning and structuring for real estate investments, operating businesses, partnerships, and other investments. Assist with tax considerations related to acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, financing, and other transactions. Coordinate international tax matters and compliance with external advisors. Review tax returns, workpapers, K-1s, and other deliverables for accuracy and completeness. Partner with legal, investment, accounting, and financial advisors on tax-related matters. Monitor tax law changes and identify relevant planning opportunities. Manage tax calendars, deadlines, notices, audits, and other compliance matters. Maintain organized tax records, entity structures, and supporting documentation. Support the CFO and broader finance team with tax analysis and special projects.
Key Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant tax experience, preferably in public accounting, a family office, or in-house at a private equity firm or other privately held business. Familiarity with federal taxation, particularly partnerships and pass-through entities and international tax matters. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax matters to key stakeholders. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
