Job Description

Are you ready for a senior-level tax opportunity where you can shape compliance, technology, and tax strategy across a growing global organization? PBI-Gordon Companies, an innovative family of companies serving the turf & ornamental, animal health, and pharmaceutical industries, is hiring a Senior Tax Manager to join the team in Shawnee, KS. As the Senior Tax Manager , you'll play a key role in managing enterprise-wide tax compliance and governance across PBI-Gordon Companies and its U.S. and international subsidiaries. You'll oversee domestic and international tax processes, indirect tax, VAT, transfer pricing, tax technology, and tax compliance while partnering with internal teams and external advisors. Position Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate tax compliance across PBI-Gordon's U.S. and international entities, partnering with external advisors including EY, CBIZ, and local firms to prepare, validate, and review tax filings Oversee U.S. indirect tax compliance, including sales/use tax, property tax, business licenses, multistate registrations, and nexus monitoring, while supporting VAT/GST, OSS/IOSS, and international compliance requirements Serve as the primary internal owner of tax technology, supporting the evaluation, selection, implementation, configuration, and ongoing management of tax software such as Avalara, Vertex, or similar platforms Support international expansion, new market initiatives, legal-entity structures, statutory audits, and other business initiatives by providing tax research and guidance Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT to strengthen tax governance, internal controls, processes, and compliance across the organization
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA preferred 7+ years of experience in tax compliance, public accounting, corporate tax, or a related tax environment Strong knowledge of U.S. indirect tax and multistate compliance; experience with VAT, OSS/IOSS, international tax, statutory audits, or other global tax compliance preferred Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple entities, jurisdictions, and deadlines
