Position Overview Reese Gateley CPA is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Accountant to join our Albuquerque team. We are looking for a well-rounded tax professional with strong experience in both individual and business taxation, including Forms 1040, 1120S, and 1065. The ideal candidate can take ownership of tax engagements, work through complex tax issues, and communicate directly with clients. We are open to both experienced Senior Tax Accountants ready for greater responsibility and Tax Managers with strong review and staff-development experience. Title and compensation will be based on experience and capabilities. Key Responsibilities Prepare and/or review individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120S, 1065, and 1120 Manage tax engagements from preparation through completion Handle tax matters involving closely held businesses and their owners Prepare tax projections, estimated tax calculations, and year-end planning Research federal and state tax issues Communicate directly with clients regarding tax questions, planning, and compliance matters Respond to IRS and state tax notices Review work and mentor less-experienced staff, depending on experience level Qualifications 4+ years of recent public accounting tax experience preferred Strong experience with individual and business tax returns Strong experience with S corporations and partnerships Experience working with closely held businesses and their owners Prior tax return review experience strongly preferred for Manager-level candidates CPA or EA preferred Experience with professional tax software; Lacerte experience is a plus Strong communication, organization, and deadline-management skills Compensation & Benefits $90,000-$135,000 per year, depending on experience and level. 100% company-paid employee medical insurance 401(k) with company match Dental, vision, and supplemental insurance options Paid time off and paid sick time Flexible scheduling Professional development and advancement opportunities About Us Reese Gateley CPA is an established Albuquerque CPA firm with more than 30 years of experience serving businesses and individuals in New Mexico and across the U.S. We provide tax, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and attestation services across a variety of industries.
