Tax Senior Manager | Georgetown | $160k to $180k Hybrid | 6+ Years Public Accounting Experience | CPA or EA Required There's something quite different about joining a firm while it's still becoming what it wants to be. You're not walking into a perfectly fixed structure where every decision was made five years ago and your job is simply to keep things moving. This Georgetown firm is growing, and at Senior Manager level that means you'll have a real opportunity to influence what comes next. They're looking for someone who can lead technically, work closely with clients and help shape how the tax team operates as the firm develops. There's a clear route towards Partner over the next few years, but the attraction here is probably bigger than the title itself. You'll actually have a say. The work has a strong consulting element, alongside technical review and team leadership, so this isn't a role where you spend all day signing off files after everybody else has done the interesting bit. You'll be involved in the work, in client conversations and in helping the people around you get better. The culture is deliberately close knit too. Georgetown still has that slightly smaller community feel, and the firm reflects it. People know each other, leadership is accessible and during busy periods there's a genuine effort to work together rather than leaving everybody to quietly struggle through their own workload. They're also fairly progressive about technology, but in a sensible way. AI and other tools are there to remove some of the friction from the job and make people more effective, not to replace the judgement that clients are actually paying for. One thing I particularly like is how structured they are about bringing people into the firm. You're not given a laptop, pointed towards your desk and expected to magically work everything out. There's a proper integration process, regular leadership conversations and 30 day check ins to make sure the role is actually working for both sides. The working setup is flexible too, with core hours of 9am to 4pm, alongside hybrid working and flexibility around those hours. The main thing to know is that this isn't a quiet Senior Manager seat.
