Duties Prepare detailed federal, state, and local tax returns for individual and small business clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws Review financial documents such as W-2s, 1099s, receipts, and bank statements to gather necessary information for tax filing Review data prepared by accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial tools to organize client data efficiently Analyze client financial situations to identify deductions, credits, and strategies that optimize their tax outcomes Provide expert guidance on tax planning strategies and answer client inquiries with clarity and professionalism Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changing tax codes and regulations through continuous learning Assist clients with bookkeeping tasks, including data entry using 10-key typing skills and basic accounting principles Support marketing efforts by promoting additional financial services such as bookkeeping or consulting when appropriate Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and building lasting relationships Collaborate with colleagues in public accounting or corporate accounting environments to ensure comprehensive financial solutions for clients Experience Proven experience as a Tax Preparer or in a related accounting role with a strong background in tax preparation and filing processes Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms Solid understanding of financial concepts including bookkeeping, corporate accounting, and technical accounting standards Strong analysis skills to interpret complex financial data accurately Excellent math skills combined with high typing accuracy (minimum 10-key typing speed) for efficient data entry Experience in financial sales or marketing of financial services is a plus but not required Previous work in public accounting or corporate finance environments is highly desirable Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients of diverse backgrounds Join us to bring energy, expertise, and enthusiasm into the world of tax preparation!
