Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations and financial concepts, with the ability to assist clients in preparing their tax returns accurately and efficiently. This role requires excellent analytical skills, customer service abilities, and proficiency in various accounting software. Responsibilities Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses. Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures. Provide clients with guidance on tax-related issues and strategies to minimize liabilities. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to ensure accurate data entry and reporting. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Assist clients with bookkeeping tasks as needed, ensuring all financial data is organized and accurate. Conduct thorough analysis of financial information to identify potential deductions or credits. Collaborate with team members to enhance marketing efforts aimed at attracting new clients. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally. Qualifications Proven experience in tax preparation or public accounting is preferred. Strong knowledge of financial concepts, corporate accounting, and technical accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms. Excellent math skills with the ability to perform calculations accurately. Familiarity with financial sales techniques is a plus. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate data analysis. Ability to type efficiently using 10 key typing skills for data entry tasks. Prior experience in customer service or sales roles is advantageous. A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred but not required.
