Teller Description:

Provide basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union procedures

Reports To:

Operations Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represents the credit union in a courteous and professional manner and provides prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing or transactions.
• Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement and enter transaction into computer system.
• Cash share draft/checks and process withdrawals, payout money after verification of identity, signature and balance of account. Ability to detect and prevent fraud.
• Receive payments for outstanding credit union loans and VISA accounts and ensure payment matches or exceeds payment due. Post to members accounts and generate receipt.
• Promote and explain credit union services such as:
• Consumer and Mortgage Loans
• IRA Account and Certificates
• Share Certificates
• ATM and Debit Cards
• ACH Origination
• Gift Cards
• Wire Transfers
• Payroll Deduction
• Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds or on checks.
• Count, check and package coins for currency.
• Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amount to computer generated balancing sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Ensures the teller station is properly stocked with forms and supplies.
• Answer telephones as needed and complete members' request or transfer to appropriate person.
• Ensure that all transactions comply with BSA rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
