East Cambridge Savings Banks Retail Division is actively recruiting for Clerk/Tellers.
Assigned work location may include Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Chelsea, Malden, Medford, Somerville, Waltham, or Woburn.
Function:
Under the supervision of a Banking Center Supervisor or Business Development Sales Manager, perform a variety of customer initiated transactional services and related accounting/clerical tasks. We are looking for a candidate with:
Minimum of 6 months retail experience in a sales-oriented environment or prior experience as a tellerGeneral understanding of digital banking productsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsMust be a self-starter with the ability to work independentlyAbility to take initiativeExperience with making referrals based on predetermined sales goals preferredMust be available to work until closing and
Saturdays Essential Job Functions:
Buy/sell teller cash to maintain authorized amounts. Greet and assist customers in a professional and personally responsive manner, in accordance with East Cambridge Savings Bank Customer Service Standards. Provide general banking services information. Direct customers to others when necessary. Refer any problem situations to a supervisor.
Responsible for making referrals based on predetermined sales goals on a monthly/annual basis in accordance with the Banks Customer Service Standards.
Accept and process all customer transactions using a computer terminal. Cash customer checks in accordance with Bank Policy. Enter check holds and provide customers with appropriate hold notices.
Ensure proper documentation and accuracy of transactions. Double count cash transactions to verify accuracy. Complete all required Bank Secrecy Act training annually and maintain knowledge of current BSA related policies and procedures. To assist with Bank Secrecy Act compliance, recognize and document currency transactions and checks purchased in excess of $10,000, as well as checks purchased between $3,000-$10,000. Identify and report potential suspicious activity. Sell money orders, treasurers' and travelers' checks; redeem U.S. Bonds. Assist in the process of cash advances.
