Job Description

Director of Capital Markets Our client, a residential real estate development company, is seeking a Director of Capital Markets to lead financial planning, capital strategy, and corporate financing activities.

Location:

This role is on-site five days per week in the San Francisco East Bay. This highly visible role will oversee liquidity planning, credit facilities, lender relationships, and executive reporting while supporting the organization's continued growth. The ideal candidate combines relevant industry experience with strong financial modeling, capital markets, and strategic business-partnering capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Lead budgeting, forecasting, liquidity planning, and long-range financial planning activities Prepare and oversee executive reporting packages, including financial statements, cash flow forecasts, performance metrics, and variance analyses Manage corporate financing activities, including lender outreach, underwriting support, due diligence, closing, and ongoing loan administration Oversee credit facilities, borrowing-base reporting, covenant compliance, funding requests, and lender communications Evaluate capital structures for development projects, strategic investments, joint ventures, acquisitions, and other growth initiatives Analyze short-term and long-term capital requirements across multiple operating divisions and markets Provide financial support for land acquisition, project development, market expansion, and investment decisions Monitor financial performance and deliver recommendations that improve liquidity, returns, and operational efficiency Partner with Accounting, Operations, Development, and divisional leadership to promote disciplined financial decision-making Mentor finance team members and help strengthen reporting processes, controls, and analytical capabilities

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field 7 to 10 years of experience in residential development, homebuilding, real estate finance, or a related capital-intensive industry Strong understanding of credit facilities, borrowing bases, lender reporting, joint ventures, project capitalization, and real estate investment structures Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, liquidity analysis, and executive reporting capabilities Excellent communication, leadership, and business-partnering skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to senior stakeholders

With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco by Highspring notes that the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
