Job Description

We are looking for an experienced finance leader to guide the fiscal strategy and day-to-day financial operations of a mission-driven non-profit organization in the Turlock, California area. This role will oversee budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and compliance while helping leadership make informed decisions that support sustainable growth. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of governmental accounting and the ability to manage complex financial processes with accuracy, transparency, and accountability.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct the organization's financial planning activities, including development of the annual budget and ongoing monitoring of performance against approved targets.
  • Lead the monthly close cycle by reviewing financial activity, ensuring timely reconciliations, and producing accurate statements for leadership review.
  • Prepare and present financial reports that translate key results, risks, and trends into clear insights for executive stakeholders and board members.
  • Manage cash flow planning by forecasting near-term and long-range funding needs to support operational stability and strategic priorities.
  • Strengthen budget processes by establishing effective controls, improving financial workflows, and promoting consistency across departments.
  • Oversee accounting practices related to municipalities and other government-connected funding sources, ensuring adherence to applicable standards and regulations.
  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate financial performance, support decision-making, and align fiscal management with organizational objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with nonprofit and governmental accounting requirements through accurate recordkeeping, policy oversight, and audit-ready documentation.
