Job Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for an interim Controller or Audit Project Manager to support our hospitality client to take on a 3+ hybrid Contract assignment in West Hollywood, California. This role will lead a team through audit readiness efforts, coordinate critical accounting cleanup activities, and serve as a central point of contact for executives, ownership, and the external audit team. The ideal candidate brings strong financial reporting expertise, sharp project leadership skills, and the ability to keep complex audit-related work moving on schedule.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee a group of accounting consultants handling reconciliation work, account cleanup, and audit preparation across multiple entities.
  • Manage the full audit action plan by tracking open items, following up on deadlines, and ensuring timely completion of required deliverables.
  • Evaluate reconciliations, supporting documentation, and audit schedules to confirm they meet readiness standards for external review.
  • Partner with internal leaders and auditors to address accounting concerns, reduce risk, and close documentation gaps before audit deadlines.
  • Provide concise progress updates to executive stakeholders and ownership, highlighting milestones, issues, and next steps.
  • Create structure across the engagement by defining priorities, clarifying responsibilities, and reinforcing accountability among stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to reporting support, audit documentation, and related accounting processes as needed.
