Job Description

Pacific Staffing is recruiting an experienced Controller to join a well established Sacramento based organization with a strong commitment to financial integrity, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who excels in managing multi entity financial operations, leading high performing teams, and driving continuous improvement across accounting and finance functions. The Controller serves as a key member of the management team, overseeing all accounting operations across multiple entities. This role leads the accounting staff, manages month end and year end close, directs financial reporting, and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The position also oversees AP, AR, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and annual audits.   • Hybrid located in Sacramento
  • $130K-$150K per year (DOE) Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily accounting operations and provide direction to the accounting team.
  • Oversee general ledger integrity, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Manage month end and year end close processes across all departments.
  • Direct AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management activities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ad hoc reports.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Coordinate annual audits and prepare supporting workpapers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, workflows, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Provide guidance to internal departments on accounting related matters.
  • Manage and develop staff, including performance management and training. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll.
  • 4+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Active CPA required.
  • CMA or MBA preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
