Position Summary ATK Energy Group is a growing utility contractor serving electric utilities and corporate clients, operating through a parent company structure with multiple subsidiaries and service lines. The Controller will lead accounting operations across ATK Energy Group and its subsidiaries, owning the monthly close, consolidated financial reporting, cash management, and internal controls. This is a hands-on leadership role for a professional who is comfortable leading a structured finance department, while establishing the systems and discipline needed for continued growth, potential acquisitions, and financial reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Consolidation Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the parent company and all subsidiaries. Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP, minimizing intercompany transactions. Deliver timely, accurate management reporting packages to executive leadership and ownership. Maintain the chart of accounts and accounting policies consistently across all entities. Cash, Banking & Treasury Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital across the parent and subsidiaries. Serve as primary point of contact for financial institution relationships. Oversee finance and accounting divisions, including teams responsible for taxes, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions. Controls, Compliance & Risk Design and maintain internal controls appropriate for a growing, multi-entity organization. Coordinate with outside CPA firm on tax compliance, planning, and any external audit or review engagements. Ensure compliance with state and local requirements across all jurisdictions where subsidiaries operate. Planning & Business Partnership Partner with executive leadership on annual budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis by service line. Provide financial analysis to support new subsidiary formation, contract structuring, and pricing decisions. Support due diligence and integration if ATK Energy Group pursues acquisitions or new ventures. Build out reporting infrastructure (KPIs, dashboards) to give leadership real-time visibility into performance. Team Leadership Manage and develop finance and accounting staff, with opportunities to scale the team as the company grows. Set the tone for a disciplined, deadline-driven close process and a culture of accuracy and accountability. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5+ years in a Controller or Senior Accounting Manager role. Demonstrated experience with multi-entity or parent/subsidiary consolidation. Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation. Proficiency with a modern ERP/accounting platform (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks). Advanced Excel skills; experience building reporting for non-finance executives. Preferred Active CPA license (strongly preferred). Public or corporate accounting background. Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, construction, or professional/consulting services. Experience supporting a company through rapid growth, acquisition, or private equity/investor reporting. MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
Pay:
$155,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
