Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Ligon Hydraulics has an immediate opening for a financial professional who wants to be part of a winning team. This role is a key part of the shared finance team that spans multiple sites but will also serve as a financial subject matter expert for one of our individual sites. The right candidate will plan, direct, coordinate and control on an efficient and economical basis all plant accounting operational functions. This position has immediate responsibility for plant accounting practices, the maintenance of plant fiscal records, and the preparation of its financial reports. Has responsibility for general and property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, budgetary controls of the plant. Responsible for appraising plant operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies of operations, trends and increased profit opportunities. This office is in Hampton, Iowa.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interprets operating results as they effect group financial aspects and makes specific recommendations, which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement. Works closely with each general manager and plant manager on all financial and accounting matters including, but not limited to forecasts, budgets, various operating analyses, etc., and expedites such to conclusion for best profitability. Directs group cash management, insuring prompt collection of receivables, as well as control of all payables to assure optimum cash generation. Develops inventory control procedures affecting group operations and is responsible for taking physical inventories. Appropriation requests against approved budgets for availability of funds prior to commitment; and exercises accounting control to ensure that budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized. Assumes responsibility for the correct and accurate accounting classification of plant expenditures and documents, including capital and others and, in a timely and accurate manner, provides management with information vital to the decision-making process. Acts as an immediate plant contact with the parent organization's independent auditors on accounting matters. Directs the preparation of plant statistics for periodic and yearly financial statements, including the preparation of charts and graphs showing progress, conditions, and results. Assist General Manager and Divisional Controller in other various duties. Responsible to maintain a clean and safe work area consistent with the Company's housekeeping policies. Other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
§ Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance § 5+ years of experience in a relevant financial professional role § Knowledge in financial management, investments, law, taxes, and electronic data processing § Excellent communication, critical thinking and organizational skills § Strong mathematical and analytic skills Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure independently and as part of a team § Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously § Proficient in Microsoft office products
PREFERENCES
§ Experience with Power BI § Experience with Advanced Report Writer (Synoptix) § Experience with Made2Manage or other equivalent ERP systems § Professional certification (CPA, CMA, MBA, etc.) § Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required TRAVEL This position requires up to 10% overnight travel. Additionally, the candidate should expect routine day trips within the region; frequency may vary based on business needs
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
