ABOUT THE ROLE

I'm working with a well-established property & casualty insurance organization that is looking for a Director of Finance to lead its finance team while serving as a key business partner to executive leadership. This role combines financial reporting, regulatory compliance, financial modeling, advanced analytics, process improvement, and strategic decision-making. Succession planning opportunity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and develop a collaborative accounting and financial reporting team. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and regulatory filings. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements. Serve as the primary liaison for external audits and financial reporting matters. Partner with executive leadership on financial analysis, planning, and strategic initiatives. Develop and utilize financial models and advanced analytical tools to evaluate business performance. Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights. Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, reporting, and financial efficiency. Maintain disciplined financial processes and controls within an insurance environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required. Proven experience leading, developing, and mentoring finance teams. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls. SOX experience preferred. Insurance or P&C experience is a plus. Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities. Ability to turn complex financial information into meaningful recommendations.
