Job Purpose:

The Controller is responsible for overseeing financial statements, invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivables, which includes supervisory responsibility over the accounting staff. To be successful, you should be analytical, have a sense of urgency with the ability and willingness to meet deadlines, be able to work with a multitude of personalities at various levels, and with a process improvement mindset.

Description of Essential Duties:

Monthly accounting close and reporting. Prepare monthly construction "work in process" schedule including obtaining up-to-date cost to complete by department and estimated profit margin projections. Maintain accurate Job Cost within Sage 100. Prepare and present Job Cost and departmental profitability and other key analysis. Help drive profitability within the Company, work with department leads on key performance indicators. Work with estimators, assisting with accuracy, bid strategies, including the contribution margin concept. Supervisor and develop the accounting staff. Work with consultants on the development and utilization of the ERP system and a dashboard. Other duties as assigned.

Accounting Staff (AP / Payroll Specialist, Staff Accountant, Billing/Collections Manager)

Qualification Requirements:

(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. These may be varied based on specific requirements of a location or project) Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience. Must have experience in the Construction and/or Manufacturing industry. CPA or CMA, preferred Experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting and/or Job & Manufacturing Cost Experience with Sage 100 (formerly MAS 90) is a plus. Extensive knowledge in MS Excel Strives to automate processes and procedures. Ability to extract, "spin", analyze, and summarize data. High sense of urgency, ability, and willingness to meet deadlines. Spirit of continuous improvement and cooperation. Highly accurate.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary position requiring extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are required. Constantly and repeatedly use of keyboard/mouse.
