Vice President of Philanthropy Vice President of Philanthropy Position Summary:
The VP of Philanthropy provides strategic leadership for both philanthropy and volunteer services, fostering a strong culture of engagement, generosity, and service across the organization. The role ensures an integrated and aligned approach between Hosparus Health's mission, corporate culture, systems, and fund development efforts. The leader plans, coordinates, and oversees comprehensive fundraising strategies to grow donor relationships and financial support for Hosparus Health, while also providing strategic direction for volunteer services operations. This includes designing and implementing donor engagement initiatives, managing fundraising programs, and developing effective volunteer recruitment, training, and retention strategies. In partnership with internal stakeholders and community supporters, the position supports key organizational and fundraising events that rely on both philanthropic investment and volunteer involvement, ensuring a seamless and mission-driven experience for donors, volunteers, and the broader community.
Vice President of Philanthropy Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field required. Advanced degree preferred. A minimum of ten years of professional experience in a fundraising role, preferably within a healthcare organization (familiarity with communities within the Hosparus Health service areas is a plus). Highly strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute coordinated plans across all facets of a development effort including, but not limited to, administrative leadership, annual giving, communications and public relations, corporate and foundation relations, culture of gratitude, donor relations, endowment building, grant solicitation, event fundraising, gift accounting and acknowledgement, grateful patient and family relations, information systems, major giving, planned giving, prospect research, staffing, thrift shop sales, tribute giving, and volunteer engagement. Experience executing a comprehensive campaign plan and effort. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of audiences to build rapport and strengthen relationships with Hosparus Health. Ability to design, appropriately resource, and execute annual and multi-year development plans. Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
