Chief Financial Officer / Executive Management / President Position Summary Our client seeks a highly accomplished Corporate Controller with 15+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience , including deep expertise in the manufacturing industry. The Controller will take complete ownership of the company's financial strategy, internal control environment, accounting operations, and reporting frameworks. We are looking for a strategic, hands-on financial executive who possesses deep expertise in financial analysis, US GAAP compliance, job cost accounting, manufacturing variance monitoring, cash management, and corporate budgeting. In addition to overseeing daily financial governance, the Controller will partner directly with executive leadership and production teams to drive efficiency, lead upcoming ERP system upgrades, and convert complex financial data into actionable insights to support company growth. Primary Responsibilities Executive Financial Leadership & Reporting Direct all general accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll, Cost Accounting, and Inventory Management. Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes, ensuring complete compliance with US GAAP. Prepare and present monthly financial statements, rolling cash forecasts, borrowing bases, and executive-level analytical reports. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with departmental leadership to collect, analyze, and consolidate company-wide financial data. Provide high-level strategic data interpretation—moving beyond standard reporting to guide business decision-making and profit optimization. Cost Accounting & Operational Collaboration Partner directly with plant leadership and production staff to maintain, refine, and optimize the job cost accounting system. Monitor and analyze manufacturing variances (labor, material, and overhead) to identify operational bottlenecks, cost savings, and process improvements. Evaluate operational workflows to drive cross-departmental efficiencies and maximize profitability. Compliance, Audit & Tax Management Manage all treasury functions, banking relationships, credit lines, and lender compliance reporting requirements. Direct and coordinate the annual financial audit conducted by outside CPA firms. Manage local, state, and federal government reporting requirements, regulatory filings, and tax compliance. Coordinate the preparation of annual corporate income tax filings in partnership with external tax advisors. Develop, implement, and maintain internal control policies and procedures to protect corporate assets and maintain audit readiness. Systems, Strategy & Team Development Spearhead the migration from legacy accounting software to a robust, modern ERP platform. Provide mentorship, strategic direction, and leadership to the internal finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration. Execute special financial projects and strategic initiatives as directed by executive leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with a strong background in senior leadership roles within the manufacturing industry .
Cost Accounting:
Proven, deep expertise in job cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory controls.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA or CPA credential strongly preferred.
Systems & Software:
Demonstrated experience leading ERP software evaluation, selection, and implementation. Tech-savvy with advanced knowledge of accounting software; familiarity with Paychex Payroll is preferred.
Audit & Governance:
Prior public or private audit experience required.
Leadership Traits:
High integrity, executive presence, and a proactive, hands-on strategic mindset. Proven ability to own financial responsibility in partnership with executive management.
