Type:

full-time We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, overseeing cost accounting and inventory processes, and providing financial insight to support business decisions. The Controller will work closely with executive leadership and operational teams to drive financial performance and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll oversight, and Fixed Assets. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes in accordance with GAAP. Manage month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate results. Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, labor reporting, variance analysis, and cost tracking. Monitor inventory transactions, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes. Analyze operational and manufacturing costs and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency. Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, while tracking performance against financial goals. Deliver financial analysis, reporting, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership. Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies. Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital activities. Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other financial transactions. Support strategic planning through financial modeling and business analysis. Partner with operations, production, purchasing, human resources, and leadership teams to support organizational objectives. Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, reporting capabilities, and financial processes. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities. Manufacturing accounting experience required. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience working with ERP/accounting systems; Fourth Shift ERP experience strongly preferred. Experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing operations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

Experience leading process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. Background supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic business planning.
