Position Overview Global Outdoor Living, LLC, is seeking a motivated, business-minded finance leader to oversee the company's financial operations and help shape the next stage of its growth. Working across sales, operations, and administration, this individual will bring financial discipline, practical insight, and a collaborative approach to improving business performance. This hybrid leadership role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on financial management with strategic business partnership. The Director will manage the day-to-day financial needs of a growing organization while providing the analysis and guidance needed to improve profitability, increase operational efficiency, and support sustainable long-term growth. As a trusted partner to ownership and the leadership team, the Director will lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, process improvement, and operational support. This individual will also help build scalable systems, strengthen the use of technology, establish meaningful KPIs, and develop the financial and operational infrastructure needed to support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership and Reporting:
Oversee accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger activities. This is a hands-on role that includes personally performing recurring day-to-day accounting work, such as processing accounts payable and coordinating payroll, in addition to providing broader financial oversight. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; maintain accurate financial statements and management reporting; monitor profitability, margins, and cash flow; and develop dashboards and KPIs for leadership. Coordinate with external CPA firms, banking partners, and advisors while maintaining appropriate financial controls and corporate policy compliance.
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting, develop financial models for strategic initiatives and investment decisions, and analyze trends in sales, margins, operating expenses, and profitability. Provide scenario planning and decision-support analysis to ownership, monitor performance against budget, recommend corrective action, establish departmental KPIs, and translate financial results into actionable business insights.
Business Operations:
Partner with sales, customer experience, purchasing, and operations teams to evaluate processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency. Support inventory planning, purchasing analysis, and working capital management; help leadership evaluate strategic growth opportunities; and develop procedures that strengthen accountability and streamline workflows.
Technology and Process Improvement:
Champion technology adoption and process automation to improve efficiency, productivity, and reporting accuracy. Strengthen the use of ERP, CRM, and reporting systems; standardize business processes and documentation; evaluate practical applications for AI and automation; and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Strategic Business Partnership:
Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership and senior leadership, contributing financial and operational insight to strategic planning and growth initiatives. Support evaluations of acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion opportunities; develop reporting and analytics that increase visibility into business performance; and present recommendations that improve profitability and operational effectiveness. Success in this role will be measured by the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting; progress toward budget and profitability objectives; stronger cash flow and working capital management; greater visibility through actionable KPI reporting; and the effective implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives. Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and bring at least five years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, business operations, or financial leadership. Strong financial analysis and reporting capabilities, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and KPI development are essential. Experience with ERP, CRM, or business intelligence platforms is preferred, as are an MBA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant advanced credentials. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate combines the analytical discipline of a finance leader with the practical, results-oriented mindset of an operator.
