A thriving nonprofit organization in the Philadelphia suburbs is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead its financial operations and serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This is an opportunity for a finance leader who can move comfortably between high-level strategy and day-to-day financial oversight. Reporting to the Executive Director, you'll provide the financial insight, forecasting, and recommendations leadership needs to make informed decisions and support the organization's continued growth and long-term sustainability. You'll also work closely with the Accounting Manager, senior administrative leadership, and the Board's Finance and Audit Committees. What You'll Do Financial Strategy & Leadership Develop long-range financial plans, projections, and scenario models aligned with organizational priorities Partner with the Executive Director and senior leadership on financial decisions Identify emerging financial risks and opportunities and translate them into actionable recommendations Help leadership understand the financial implications of strategic initiatives and operational decisions Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process from planning through final approval Collaborate with department leaders to establish realistic budgets and monitor performance Conduct ongoing budget-to-actual analysis and investigate significant variances Manage cash flow, working capital, reserves, and overall financial health Monitor fundraising and other revenue streams to strengthen forecasting accuracy Reporting & Board Partnership Produce timely, accurate, and easy-to-understand financial reports for leadership and Board committees Present financial results, trends, challenges, and opportunities to both financial and non-financial stakeholders Support Finance and Audit Committee meetings with meaningful analysis and financial insight Accounting, Compliance & Risk Oversee the organization's accounting operations in partnership with the Accounting Manager Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and accounting processes Coordinate the annual audit and oversee tax filings and regulatory requirements Provide oversight of payroll and other critical financial functions Maintain relationships with auditors, financial advisors, and other outside professionals What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 5-7+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience Nonprofit, education, or other mission-driven organization experience required Experience working with restricted vs. unrestricted gifts/funds is required Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial reporting, and internal controls Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn financial data into clear business recommendations
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
