full-time Our client is a well-established, growing industrial company in Sumter, SC seeking a Controller to join the leadership team in a newly created position. This is an opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who can manage the day-to-day accounting function while building the processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure needed to support continued growth. The ideal candidate is a solutions-oriented business partner who identifies opportunities, brings recommendations, and helps ownership make informed decisions. Key Responsibilities Oversee all daily accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, cash management, reconciliations, and month-end close Build and improve accounting processes, procedures, internal controls, and systems to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability Develop timely, meaningful financial reporting and analysis for ownership and department leaders Strengthen job costing, project reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Partner with operations and department leaders to improve financial visibility, accountability, and decision-making Identify business and accounting issues and proactively bring solutions and recommendations to ownership Evaluate and implement technology and process improvements that support the company's continued growth Lead and develop the accounting team as the organization expands Ideal Candidate Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior accounting leadership experience Experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or another project-based environment strongly preferred Strong hands-on knowledge of the full accounting cycle and month-end close Demonstrated experience developing processes, procedures, and internal controls Strong Excel and accounting systems experience Hands-on, analytical, proactive, and solutions-oriented Comfortable partnering directly with ownership and operational leadership while remaining willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work Why This Role This is an opportunity to build the accounting infrastructure for a growing company , create efficiencies, strengthen financial controls, and provide leadership with better information to support the company's next stage of growth.
