Overview We are seeking a capable and motivated Controller to join our Tennessee-based injection molding manufacturing business servicing the beverage industry. This is a key finance role reporting directly to the President and leading a small finance team of three people. The role would suit someone with some relevant finance, accounting and manufacturing experience who has been an Assistant Controller / Controller and is ready to step into a broader leadership position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong potential, good financial discipline, and a can-do attitude to grow into a senior finance leadership role within an injection molding manufacturing business. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Reporting Lead the day-to-day finance function for the Tennessee injection molding operation and other smaller locations in the USA. Manage, support, and develop a finance team of three people. Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, financial reports, and performance analysis. Report financial performance to the Regional CEO, highlighting key risks, opportunities, and corrective actions. Ensure financial results are properly reviewed, understood, and communicated to the business. Support regional and corporate reporting requirements as needed. Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning Support and help lead the annual budgeting process. Prepare forecasts and financial projections. Analyze variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods. Work with department heads to help improve financial ownership and cost control. Provide clear financial insight to support business planning and decision-making. Manufacturing Finance & Cost Control Monitor injection molding manufacturing costs, including resin/materials, labor, machine time, overheads, scrap, downtime, tooling, and efficiency. Support product costing, margin analysis, and inventory valuation. Work with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve plant performance. Review production performance and provide financial analysis on operational KPIs. Support pricing, customer profitability, and commercial decision-making where required. Help ensure financial visibility over mold changes, machine utilization, cycle times, rework, scrap, and production efficiency. Internal Controls & Compliance Maintain strong financial controls across the business. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal procedures. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and month-end close processes. Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors where required. Help ensure appropriate controls over inventory, purchasing, receivables, payables, and cash management. Working Capital & Cash Management Monitor working capital performance, including inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Support cash flow forecasting and cash management. Work with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy and control. Support collections activity and credit control where required. Business Partnering Act as a finance business partner to the President and wider management team. Provide practical financial advice to support operational and commercial decisions. Challenge assumptions, identify risks, and recommend improvements. Support capital expenditure proposals, investment analysis, and payback calculations. Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the business. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance professional with some relevant accounting, finance, cost accounting, or manufacturing experience. They do not need to have spent many years in a Controller role, but they must have the confidence and resilience to work in a busy injection molding manufacturing environment, lead a small team, and take ownership of the finance function. We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable, commercially aware, and willing to get involved in the detail. A positive attitude, resilience, and willingness to learn are essential. Required Experience & Skills Some prior experience in finance, accounting, controlling, cost accounting, or management accounting. Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred, ideally in injection molding, plastics, automotive supply, or a similar production environment. Automotive supplier or automotive sub-supplier experience would be helpful but is not required. Understanding of month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, or forecasting. Some exposure to costing, inventory, manufacturing KPIs, or operational finance would be advantageous. Ability to manage, support, or grow into leading a small finance team. Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting or ERP systems. Good attention to detail and willingness to follow issues through to completion. Practical, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership. Can-do attitude, resilience, and ability to work through challenges. Good communication skills and confidence working with both finance and non-finance colleagues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. CPA, CMA, ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. Strong relevant experience, aptitude, and attitude may be considered in place of formal qualifications. $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
