Job Description:
The Controller manages the plant's financial accounting, reporting, and cost controls. This role leads the month-end close process, supervises accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), and ensures accurate product costing. You will work closely with plant operations to improve efficiency and profitability. [1, 2, 3, 4] Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Month-End Close Lead and manage the complete month-end close process. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and variance reports. Analyze actual manufacturing costs against standard or budgeted costs. Review general ledger entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts. [1] Accounting Operations (AP/AR) Supervise accounts payable (AP) to ensure timely vendor payments and accurate invoice coding. Monitor accounts receivable (AR) and follow up on customer collections to maintain healthy cash flow. Oversee daily banking, cash management, and payroll processing support. Cost Accounting & Inventory Maintain and update standard cost systems for manufactured goods. Analyze labor, overhead, and material variances. Partner with operations to conduct physical inventory counts and review cycle counts. Compliance & Budgeting Assist with the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts. Support internal and external audits by providing requested data. Ensure company policies and financial controls follow standard accounting rules.
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and general ledger management.
Software:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Epicor).
