Job Description

LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LMSW | EMDR and Child Experience Preferred Kensho Psychotherapy Services is a culturally responsive group private practice serving Nassau County, New York City, and surrounding communities from our office in Lynbrook, New York. We work with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, family concerns, identity, relationships, and major life transitions. Many of our clients are Black, Afro-Caribbean, Latino, immigrant, and first-generation professionals and families. Kensho was created as an alternative to the high-volume, mass-production feel of many clinical settings. We want clients to feel safe, seen, respected, and understood. We also want clinicians to have the time, support, and clinical community needed to provide thoughtful care. We are seeking an experienced, part-time trauma psychotherapist who can independently manage cases and provide therapy. This is not a first clinical role. The right clinician will already have a strong foundation in psychotherapy and treating trauma. Can clearly conceptualize a case and explain why you are choosing a particular intervention Value culturally responsive care Want meaningful private-practice work without having to manage your own billing, marketing, referrals, and administrative systems Can maintain a minimum caseload of 10 ongoing clients. Available evenings, and a few hours on the weekend. Required Qualifications Active New York State license in good standing At least three years of post-master's psychotherapy experience and treating trauma Demonstrated experience treating trauma-related concerns Experience providing psychotherapy to adults and adolescents Experience working with clients from diverse background Can work in person at our Lynbrook office Professional liability insurance or the ability to obtain coverage before starting Additional consideration and a higher rate may be offered to clinicians with: Completion of an EMDRIA-approved EMDR basic training with experience actively using the full EMDR protocol. Experience providing psychotherapy to children in addition to adolescents and adults Advanced training in trauma treatment such as: TF-CBT, DBT, somatic therapies, attachment-based therapy, IFS, AEDP, play therapy, or another established trauma-focused approach Responsibilities Provide individual psychotherapy to adults and adolescents Provide trauma therapy if needed using an evidenced based approach Complete comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment plans, and progress notes Develop and communicate clear case formulations Monitor treatment progress and adjust the clinical approach when needed Participate in clinical supervision, consultation and case discussions Maintain professional liability insurance and all applicable licensing requirements Maintain a minimum caseload of 10 ongoing clients Schedule and Location This is a part-time, fee-for-service contractor position based at our Lynbrook office. Clinicians must be able to maintain a consistent, agreed-upon in-office schedule. Limited telehealth flexibility may be available when clinically appropriate or under extenuating circumstances, but this is not a primarily remote position. Daytime, after-school, evening, and weekend availability are welcome. Compensation $45-$55 per hour.
