OF CONTRACTED SERVICES

Grosse Pointe Public School System is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Athletic Trainer to provide contracted athletic training services at Grosse Pointe North High School through EduStaff. The contracted Athletic Trainer will support the health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes and work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, coaches, administrators, parents/guardians, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and emergency care for student-athletes participating in the Grosse Pointe North athletic program. The successful service provider will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound professional judgment, the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations, and a commitment to providing a safe and positive environment for all student-athletes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1.

Bachelor's degree or higher. 2. Current Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) through the Board of Certification (BOC). 3. Valid Michigan Athletic Trainer license or eligibility to obtain Michigan licensure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The individual providing contracted Athletic Trainer services must: 1. Be eligible to provide services in the United States. 2. Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, policies, procedures, and professional documentation. 3. Communicate clearly, professionally, and concisely, both orally and in writing. 4. Maintain composure and exercise sound professional judgment during stressful situations and medical emergencies. 5. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents/guardians, coaches, staff, administrators, healthcare providers, and members of the school community. 6. Possess essential technology skills, including proficiency with computers, laptops, electronic communication, injury documentation systems, and other relevant technology and software. 7. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively support multiple athletic teams, facilities, practices, and competitions.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The contracted Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services that include: 1. Developing and implementing injury-prevention programs and providing appropriate guidance to coaches and student-athletes. 2. Evaluating and providing appropriate care for injured student-athletes and determining when additional medical attention, EMS response, or physician evaluation is necessary. 3. Communicating appropriately with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, coaches, administrators, and other staff while maintaining required student confidentiality and compliance with applicable privacy requirements. 4. Maintaining accurate documentation of athletic injuries, evaluations, treatments, rehabilitation, and return-to-play information, including required MHSAA concussion reporting. 5. Carrying out appropriate treatment and rehabilitation protocols as directed by or coordinated with supervising or treating physicians and other authorized healthcare professionals, when applicable. 6. Assisting and advising coaches and student-athletes regarding the appropriate fit, use, and maintenance of athletic safety equipment. 7. Supporting the organization and operation of the athletic training room, including monitoring medical and training supply inventory and coordinating supply needs with the Athletic Director. 8. Providing athletic training coverage for designated practices, home contests, and other athletic events as coordinated with the Athletic Director and consistent with the contracted scope of services. 9. Collaborating with the Athletic Director and school administration to promote safe practice and competition environments. 10. Assisting with the development, implementation, communication, and regular review of Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for athletic venues and activities. 11. Communicating directly with parents/guardians regarding student-athlete injuries, treatment recommendations, follow-up care, and return-to-participation requirements when appropriate. 12. Collaborating with coaches regarding injury status and appropriate participation restrictions while maintaining required confidentiality. 13. Providing other athletic training services reasonably related to this scope of services, as coordinated with the Athletic Director and consistent with the District's agreement with EduStaff.

SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

To successfully provide the contracted services, the Athletic Trainer must possess the qualifications, professional credentials, knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the scope of services described above. Any required accommodations or other matters related to the individual's engagement through EduStaff will be addressed in accordance with applicable law and the contractual relationship between EduStaff and the individual. SCHEDULE and Compensation Athletic training services will generally be provided during the District's school year and will be scheduled based on the athletic program's practices, competitions, and other coverage needs. Services may include afternoons, evenings, and weekends based on scheduled athletic events. In addition, the Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services for up to one (1) week during the summer to support District-sponsored athletic camps and related activities. The specific service schedule and event coverage will be coordinated with the Athletic Director and may vary based on seasonal athletic schedules, competitions, and program needs. This is a full- time position with a base salary of $50,000 per year.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND SERVICE ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described below are representative of those necessary to provide athletic training services in the school athletic environment. The contracted Athletic Trainer must be able to: 1. Regularly move throughout gymnasiums, athletic fields, tracks, courts, locker rooms, athletic training facilities, and other indoor and outdoor athletic venues. 2. Respond quickly to injuries and emergency situations occurring throughout athletic facilities. 3. Frequently use hands, arms, and body positioning to evaluate injuries, provide treatment, perform rehabilitation activities, and demonstrate appropriate techniques. 4. Lift, carry, move, or assist with equipment and individuals weighing up to 50 pounds as necessary to provide athletic training services. 5. Provide services in both indoor and outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions. 6. Frequently communicate with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, parents/guardians, healthcare professionals, officials, and emergency personnel and accurately exchange information in these situations.

PROFESSIONAL AND STUDENT-SAFETY EXPECTATIONS

The contracted Athletic Trainer serves an important role in supporting the Grosse Pointe North athletic program and is expected to maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, student safety, and sportsmanship while providing services on District property and at District-sponsored activities. The Athletic Trainer will coordinate closely with the Athletic Director regarding athletic schedules, coverage needs, student-athlete health and safety matters, Emergency Action Plans, and other matters within the contracted scope of athletic training services. While providing services to Grosse Pointe Public School System, the Athletic Trainer is expected to comply with applicable laws, professional and licensure requirements, MHSAA requirements, and District policies and procedures applicable to contractors and individuals providing services to students.

CONTRACTUAL RELATIONSHIP

This is a contracted service assignment provided through EduStaff and is not a direct employment position with Grosse Pointe Public School System. The individual selected to provide these services will be engaged through EduStaff and will be subject to the applicable requirements, terms, and conditions established by EduStaff and the contractual agreement between EduStaff and Grosse Pointe Public School System.
