Position Overview:
SD Gameday is seeking a motivated and skilled Staff Athletic Trainer to join our dynamic team. The Staff Athletic Trainer will play a crucial role in providing high-quality athletic training services to athletes of all levels, from youth sports to the professional levels. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, collaborating with coaches, athletes, and healthcare professionals to optimize athletic performance and prevent injuries.
Responsibilities:
Provide athletic training services, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation, to athletes in participating programs. Develop and implement comprehensive injury prevention programs tailored to the specific needs of individual athletes and teams. Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of athletic injuries to determine the appropriate course of action and facilitate timely return-to-play protocols. Collaborate with coaches, sports medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimize athlete outcomes. Maintain accurate medical records, injury reports, and treatment documentation in compliance with
HIPAA/FERPA
regulations and organizational policies. Educate athletes, coaches, and support staff on proper training techniques, injury prevention strategies, and sports nutrition to promote overall health and wellness. Assist with emergency action planning and provide immediate care for athletic injuries during practices, games, and events as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field required. Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential from the Board of Certification (BOC) required. Current CPR/AED certification from a nationally recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association) required. Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of New Jersey or eligible for licensure. Strong clinical skills, including proficiency in injury assessment, manual therapy techniques, and therapeutic exercise prescription. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with athletes, coaches, and healthcare professionals. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuing education in the field of sports medicine. Experience working with athletes of all ages and skill levels preferred. Familiarity with sports performance technology and electronic medical record systems is a plus. We encourage new graduates of CAATE approved programs to apply.
