Athletic Trainer

Job Description

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and management of injuries and medical conditions affecting student-athletes participating in the College's intercollegiate athletics programs. The Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive healthcare coverage for athletic practices, competitions, and related events in compliance with NJCAA regulations, institutional policies, and accepted standards of sports medicine practice.

This position works collaboratively with the Athletic Director, coaches, team physicians, healthcare providers, and student-athletes to promote the health, safety, wellness, and academic success of student-athletes while fostering a culture of integrity, professionalism, sportsmanship, and student development
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or related field. Current certification through the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers. Current New York State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer. Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED. Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations related to sports medicine and student-athlete healthcare. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required. Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
Preferred:
Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or related field. Previous collegiate athletic training experience, preferably at the NJCAA or NCAA level. Experience with concussion management software and electronic medical records systems. Experience supervising students or support staff. Familiarity with injury insurance claims processing and return-to-play protocols.
