Job Description

Category Schools - RBT - Registered Behavior Technician Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a dedicated professional working 1:1 with a first-grade student. This full-time, onsite contract runs from August through May and offers a rewarding opportunity to support a child's growth and daily school experience. Located near Childersburg, AL, you'll collaborate closely with the district's BCBA, providing essential behavioral support in an inclusive educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential preferred, but not required Paraprofessional background and/or experience supporting children with special needs strongly valued Demonstrated expertise in behavior management techniques Prior exposure to school environments or educational settings a plus Crisis Intervention training highly desirable Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to remain composed and supportive through challenging situations
Position Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 behavioral and academic assistance to a first-grade student throughout the school day Implement behavior intervention plans under the guidance of the district BCBA Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and independence Assist with social, emotional, and functional skill development Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress and behavior Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to promote consistent support strategies Model patience, empathy, and adaptability in all interactions Enjoy the reward of seeing real progress and being a key support for a young child during a meaningful stage in their education.
