About Us SABA Therapy Center, LLC is dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based ABA services to children, teens, and young adults (ages 2-21) with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, Down syndrome, and other developmental needs. Our services are delivered in homes, clinics, and community settings, with all programs supervised by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in accordance with BACB standards. Our programs emphasize individualized treatment, data-driven decision-making, and active caregiver involvement through ongoing parent education and training. What We're Looking For We are seeking a Lead Behavior Technician (Lead BT) who is passionate about supporting both clients and staff. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who is ready to take on a leadership position while remaining hands-on in clinical work. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, professionalism, and a solid understanding of ABA principles, while serving as a mentor and support system for the clinical team. Job Description The Lead Behavior Technician supports the clinical team by providing direct services, mentoring Behavior Technicians, assisting with training, and collaborating closely with supervisors. This role plays a key part in maintaining clinical quality, staff development, and ethical service delivery. Responsibilities Provide 1:1 ABA therapy sessions based on individualized treatment plans developed by the BCBA Support and mentor Behavior Technicians to ensure proper implementation of programs and interventions Assist with onboarding and training of new staff Model best practices in behavior management, professionalism, and ethical conduct Collect and review data to monitor client progress and identify trends Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and supervision sessions Collaborate with BCBAs and leadership regarding client progress and staff performance Provide parent and caregiver training and support when appropriate Maintain accurate and timely documentation and session notes Support crisis situations using approved de-escalation strategies under BCBA guidance Create and adapt therapeutic materials (stimuli), including visual supports, token systems, social stories, and skill-building tools Adhering to ethical guidelines and professional standards of behavior analysis Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Behavior Technician or in a similar role RBT certification required or willingness to obtain Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Special Education, Speech Pathology, Behavioral Science, or related field preferred or equivalent experience Strong understanding of ABA principles and data collection Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentoring skills Ability to work independently while supporting a team Ability to remain professional and composed in challenging situations Ability to pass background check and meet company onboarding requirements Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and proof of auto insurance Willing to commute up to 30 miles between sessions (drive time paid at minimum wage) Basic proficiency with technology (smartphone/tablet) Bilingual a plus Schedule Hours of operation: Monday - Friday 8:00am-8:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am - 8:00pm Schedule based on client needs and staff availability This role includes both direct service hours and leadership responsibilities Work Location In-person sessions provided in client homes and/or clinic within Kern County Travel between client locations required; reliable transportation is required Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and engage with clients during sessions Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (materials or equipment) Ability to manage physical interaction with clients when necessary for clinical purposes, following safety guidelines and protocols This job description is intended to outline the primary responsibilities of the position and is not all-inclusive.
