The life skills specialist is a direct-service, Bachelor's level position. The adaptive life skills specialist works to help increase client independence by working towards goals as detailed in the client adaptive life skills plan. Typical goals include communication, household chores, recreational access and self-help skills. Services take place in both home and community settings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in psychology, education, social work, human development, rehabilitation, or a related field ( Required ) Minimum of one year of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, older adults, or other high-needs populations ( Required ) Successful completion of a background check ( Required ) Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client homes and community locations ( Required ) Preferred but not required : Possession of one or more relevant credentials, such as an Education Specialist teaching credential, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification, Board Certified Autism Technician (BCAT) certification, Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) credential, etc. Additional education, certifications, and relevant experience may qualify candidates for compensation at the higher end of the pay range.
Pay Range:
$30-45
DOE and Credentials/Education Benefits:
Simple IRA with Matching after employment criteria has been met Sick Time Accrual Paid Holidays and PTO for full time employees. Reimbursement of some qualifying education related expenses for employees who qualify
Schedule:
M/Tu/W/Th 3p-6p. Additional shifts may be available.
