RMS is seeking a full-time Behavioral Specialist in our Waterbury area to develop positive behavioral support strategies to support individuals with disabilities to experience positive outcomes at home and in the community. The Behavior Specialist is responsible for developing functional behavior assessments, behavior plans and interventions. Able to work effectively with people receiving supports, direct support employees, team members and consulting specialists. Must review data and report results in graphs and narrative form. Responsible to ensure that applicable state regulations policy requirements are met. Provide positive leadership in dealing with behavioral challenges. Must be flexible and develop positive behavioral approaches best suited for each situation. Masters Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education or a related allied health field. 2 years experience supporting people with disabilities. Excellent communication skills as well as computer skills are required. Be able to demonstrate competence and in positive behavior supports, and person-centered planning.
