The Day Hab Activities Coordinator is a non-clinical, programmatic support role responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating structured therapeutic, educational, and recreational activities for clients in a recuperative care setting. This role supports client stabilization, recovery, socialization, and readiness for discharge through person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive programming. The Day Hab Activities Coordinator supports CalAIM-covered services in a non-clinical capacity and works as part of an interdisciplinary team, escalating medical, behavioral health, safety, or scope-related concerns to licensed or supervisory staff as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Planning & Facilitation (Non-Clinical) Develop, coordinate, and facilitate structured daily programming, including life-skills training, health and wellness activities, recreational engagement, and educational workshops Adapt activities to meet varying physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of clients in recuperative care Maintain an activity calendar and ensure consistent delivery of group and individual sessions Ensure activities support recuperative care goals, including stabilization, self-management, social connection, and discharge readiness Client Engagement & Support (Non-Clinical) Build rapport with clients using trauma-informed, non-judgmental, and strengths-based approaches Encourage participation, monitor engagement, and document attendance and observations Support development of healthy routines, coping strategies, and social skills Communicate client progress, challenges, or behavioral concerns to appropriate team members Documentation & Communication Accurately complete required documentation, logs, attendance records, and incident reports Enter required program and billing-related information into designated systems (e.g., NextGen) without clinical interpretation Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, supervisors, volunteers, and partners Collaboration & Program Support Coordinate with recuperative care staff to align activities with client care plans Facilitate guest speakers, volunteers, and external partnerships for program enrichment Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and quality improvement activities Track supplies, maintain activity spaces, and request materials as needed
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school diploma or equivalent Experience facilitating group activities in social services, healthcare, education, recreation, or community programs Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, medical recovery, behavioral health conditions, or substance use disorders Bilingual (Spanish preferred) Training in trauma-informed care, recreation therapy, or related fields EEO/ADA Statement WPCC is an equal opportunity organization committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of service and employment.
