(AAMA), RMA, or NCMA (Required) BLS/CPR certification (Preferred) Role summary Lillia is hiring a part-time, contract bilingual (English/Spanish) Certified Medical Assistant (MA), based in Florida, to support remote chronic care programs for primary care practices in the United States, beginning with a diabetes and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) pilot in Florida.
This is an immediate-start role:
we are looking for a candidate who can begin within 1 week of offer. This is a primarily remote, process-driven care coordination role focused on patient engagement, adherence support, documentation, and timely escalation for chronic disease populations, especially Medicare patients and Spanish-speaking patients. The MA works under the general supervision of partner practice's billing provider and Lillia's clinical team (RN/NP), following practice-approved protocols. The MA is responsible for identifying and escalating clinical concerns, patient needs, or issues requiring further intervention to the practice provider or designated clinical staff.
Depending on the needs of partner practices, the MA may occasionally provide on-site support for patient onboarding, device setup, workflow coordination, staff collaboration, and program implementation within Florida. The role is ideal for medical assistants who are entrepreneurial and enjoy structured patient interaction, technology-enabled care, and operational excellence. The role starts as part-time, leading towards full-time. Key responsibilities Conduct structured, protocol-driven patient check-ins and engagement touchpoints across the program journey (cadence varies by protocol) Reinforce provider-approved chronic disease education materials and support adherence and care coordination (appointments, refill reminders, referrals, and follow-ups) Monitor patient-reported data and RPM alerts, and flag readings outside protocol thresholds for clinical review Document patient interactions and time spent accurately for quality and evidence capture for billing compliance Follow structured scripts, workflows, and escalation protocols Escalate clinical concerns promptly to the supervising provider, RN, or NP per escalation protocol (clinical assessment, triage decisions, and medication advice remain with licensed clinicians) Maintain high-quality patient engagement and empathy, especially with elderly populations Conduct patient outreach, check-ins, and education reinforcement in both English and Spanish Help adapt patient-facing scripts and materials for Spanish-speaking patients (final content reviewed by the clinical team) Collaborate with Lillia's operations and AI-assisted workflow systems Help optimize operational workflows and patient experience over time Serve as the single day-to-day operational point of contact for the partner clinic. Become an early expert user of the Lillia platform and help stand up and refine our first US workflows. Support diabetes care specifically, including CGM data syncing, device troubleshooting, and flagging out-of-range glucose readings for clinical review Assist patients with device setup (CGM, glucometer, blood pressure cuff) and app onboarding Ideal candidate profile Current national Medical Assistant certification required (CCMA, CMA (AAMA), RMA, or NCMA) Based in Florida and able to travel occasionally to partner practices Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written), including comfort discussing health topics in Spanish Available to start within 1 week of offer 1+ years of MA experience in primary care, chronic care, care coordination, telehealth, or population health Comfortable with remote work and digital communication tools Tech-savvy and open to AI-assisted workflows Strong communication and patient engagement skills Reliable, organized, and highly process-oriented Comfortable with repetitive monthly patient interactions Strong documentation discipline and compliance mindset Trainable and adaptable to evolving workflows Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable helping shape new workflows and operational processes Preferred experience CCM and/or RPM experience Medicare patient population exposure Experience using EHRs, care coordination platforms, or digital health tools Experience in remote care environments Experience supporting Spanish-speaking or Hispanic/Latino patient populations in a clinical setting Diabetes care, endocrinology, or CGM device experience BLS/CPR certification What success looks like High patient engagement and retention Consistent completion of monthly CCM/RPM workflows Excellent documentation quality Strong patient satisfaction and trust Strong engagement and retention among Spanish-speaking patients Timely, protocol-adherent escalation handling Operational discipline and responsiveness Work structure Part-time leading towards a full-time remote role Immediate start: available to begin within 1 week of offer acceptance Flexible scheduling Performance-driven environment with clear workflows and protocols About Lillia Lillia is an AI-enabled chronic care platform helping primary care providers better support patients living with chronic conditions between visits.
