Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and verify their insurance information, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. Schedule appointments efficiently, balancing patient needs with provider availability. Collect and organize medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and accessibility for healthcare providers. Assist with medical billing processes by coding procedures using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to document patient interactions, update records, and track appointment histories. Support medical office operations by managing correspondence, preparing reports, and maintaining organized filing systems for medical records and billing documentation. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans, billing inquiries, or follow-up appointments to ensure clarity and satisfaction. Field multi line telephone system for coordinating care Experience Prior experience working in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (including
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9/10), and billing procedures is essential. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for managing patient records and documentation. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and coding accuracy. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus but not necessary Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
