Full Job Description Position Information Department:
Approximately 12 hours per week (3 days/week, 4 hours/day). A typical workday consists of approximately three (3) hours of direct clinical services (IOP, OP, assessments, therapy, or other assigned services) and one (1) hour of clinical documentation and related administrative responsibilities. Schedule may vary based on client census and agency needs. Position Summary The Substance Use Clinician provides evidence-based substance use disorder treatment services to adults enrolled in the Outpatient Program (OP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Services are delivered in accordance with Kentucky AODE requirements, ASAM Criteria, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, agency policies, and accepted professional standards. The clinician is responsible for assessments, therapy (Individual, Group, and Family members - per client's consent), treatment planning, documentation, client education, recovery support, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Purpose of Position The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality, evidence-based outpatient substance use disorder treatment services while supporting Blossom Tree Healthcare LLC's mission of promoting long-term recovery through compassionate, person-centered care. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet Kentucky AODE clinician qualification requirements. Qualified applicants may include, but are not limited to:
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Psychologist
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) practicing within scope and meeting AODE requirements
Other professionals qualified under Kentucky AODE regulations.
Preferred:
Experience providing outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use treatment, knowledge of ASAM Criteria, DSM-5-TR, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and electronic health records. Client Assessment
Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and substance use assessments.
Determine appropriate level of care using ASAM Criteria.
Identify co-occurring disorders and recovery needs. Treatment Planning
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
Review and update treatment plans based on clinical progress. Clinical Services
Provide Individual Therapy.
Facilitate Group Therapy for OP and IOP.
Provide Family Therapy when clinically appropriate.
Conduct Intake Assessments.
Provide Recovery Education, Relapse Prevention, Life Skills Training, Medication Education (within scope), Recovery Support Activities, Discharge Planning, and Case Management when assigned. Documentation and Recordkeeping
Complete assessments, ASAM documentation, treatment plans, progress notes, treatment plan reviews, discharge summaries, and EHR documentation accurately and within agency timeframes. Care Coordination
Coordinate with referral sources, healthcare providers, community partners, and participate in clinical supervision, case staffing, and quality improvement. Compliance and Professional Practice
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Comply with Kentucky AODE regulations and Blossom Tree Healthcare LLC policies.
Maintain professional licensure/certification and required continuing education. Performance Expectations
Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and effective communication.

Working Conditions Office-based behavioral health setting with direct client interaction (telehealth is available when necessary). May include evening services based on program needs. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate effectively, facilitate therapy groups, and operate standard office equipment and electronic health record systems.
