Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management standards. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and supporting comfort through effective communication and empathetic service. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following infection control protocols and aseptic techniques aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards. Support dental reception duties when needed by managing patient management software, scheduling appointments, and coordinating patient flow efficiently. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment to assist effectively during procedures. Experience with dental X-ray techniques including dental x-ray safety protocols and oral surgery imaging. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and the unique needs of pediatric patients. Ability to perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management accurately. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to enhance procedure efficiency. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to uphold the highest clinical standards.
