Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with dental instruments and medical imaging tools such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Take and develop dental X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to dental x-ray safety protocols and HIPAA privacy regulations for medical documentation and records management. Manage patient care by taking vital signs, updating medical records, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit. Handle administrative duties including patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, insurance processing, and maintaining accurate medical coding for billing purposes. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to ensure understanding. Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while practicing aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission within the clinic environment. Support the dental team with general dentistry tasks such as instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintaining dental equipment to ensure smooth clinic operations. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or oral surgery procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Patient Management Software is essential for efficient record keeping and patient tracking. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques is required. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices ensures accurate communication within the team. Experience in chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques enhances workflow efficiency during complex procedures. Ability to operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools confidently. Strong understanding of infection control protocols related to dental sterilization procedures ensures compliance with regulatory standards like HIPAA.
