Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort Perform dental x-rays and operate advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners with precision and adherence to safety protocols Prepare and process dental instruments and materials using sterilization procedures aligned with infection prevention management standards Manage patient records efficiently using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Take vital signs, medical history updates, and document medical documentation accurately for each patient visit Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and providing excellent patient care that emphasizes comfort and trust Maintain all dental equipment in optimal condition, including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold clinical safety standards Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support across various specialties such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures to effectively communicate with team members and patients Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental sterilizers, and other clinical tools with attention to infection control protocols Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records securely and efficiently Expertise in healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures Ability to handle medical imaging tasks accurately while adhering to radiation safety guidelines Excellent organizational skills for managing medical documentation, medical records, and patient management software Knowledge of general dentistry procedures along with specialized areas like endodontics or prosthodontics enhances versatility in supporting diverse treatment plans This role is perfect for motivated professionals eager to make a positive impact through exceptional patient care while advancing their skills in a supportive environment.
