In this energetic position, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various treatments, including X-ray procedures, oral surgeries, and restorative work, providing support with dental instruments and materials. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection prevention protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining clinical confidentiality policies at all times. Monitor vital signs and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care during visits. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans while addressing their questions with professionalism and empathy. Follow strict infection control procedures including dental sterilization protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention standards to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical documentation and records efficiently. Familiarity with dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools used in general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Strong understanding of infection prevention management practices to uphold clinical safety standards. Ability to perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintain aseptic technique consistently. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology to support accurate documentation and communication. Excellent patient management skills with the ability to handle diverse patient needs while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Certification in X-ray safety or radiography is preferred; ongoing training in healthcare infection control is highly valued.
