Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival and manage check-in/check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency Schedule appointments using dental practice management software, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflow Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle medical billing including Medicare and other health insurance claims Maintain accurate and organized electronic health records (EHR systems) such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth Assist the dental team during procedures by preparing instruments, taking X-rays, and ensuring clinical supplies are stocked Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including care plans and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies Manage phone communication with patients, answer inquiries professionally, and schedule follow-up appointments or referrals as needed Skills Proven experience in a dental clinic setting with strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for documentation review and management Skilled in medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and medical billing processes Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person; bilingual abilities are a plus Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks such as filing, typing (including 10 key typing), and data entry Knowledge of health insurance policies, health information management, and medical administrative support procedures Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while adhering to clinical confidentiality policies Previous clinic or medical office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with HIPAA regulations is essential Exceptional organizational skills for managing medical records, appointment scheduling, and office filing systems Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to providing outstanding dental care while fostering a positive environment for both staff and patients.
