Overview We're a family-run dental practice looking to welcome a friendly, dependable, and experienced Licensed Dental Assistant to our growing team! We're looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient care and enjoys helping create a positive, comfortable experience for every patient who walks through our doors. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to work well as part of a team. In this role, you'll assist the dentist with general dentistry and surgical procedures, provide direct and indirect patient care, and help keep our office running smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient. Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments. Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth. Provides diagnostic information by taking digital radiographs (x-rays), pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts. Scan patients using our iTero system. Ability to fabricating temporary restorations ; cleaning and polishing removable appliances. Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory. Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions. Documents dental care services by charting in patient records. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Keep the dental rooms (operatory) clean and well-stocked. Other duties as assigned Experience Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Knowledge in Dentrix software is a plus Spanish speaking is a plus Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA) Necessary industry certifications and education Radiography License Minimum 3 year dental assistant experience
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 32.0 per week
