Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining a smooth, efficient clinic environment. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure clinical operations adhere to the highest standards of infection control and confidentiality. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery settings. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments according to infection prevention management protocols and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly. Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Patient Management Software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to assist in clinical assessments and treatment planning. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, providing pre- and post-treatment instructions, and addressing patient inquiries with professionalism. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments efficiently and adhering to infection control policies in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Experience with dental x-ray techniques and medical imaging equipment while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety standards. Familiarity with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental instrument processing. Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to manage patient flow smoothly while demonstrating empathy and professionalism. Knowledge of dental equipment operation including 3D scanners, medical documentation tools, and patient management software. Understanding of clinical confidentiality policies in compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare privacy standards. Join us in making a difference through compassionate care!
