In this energetic role, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and sterilization. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontic work Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing questions to ensure comfort and understanding throughout treatment Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental instruments, and other clinical tools, ensuring proper maintenance and aseptic technique Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with patient management software and assisting the dental receptionist with patient intake and documentation Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is preferred Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Certification in dental x-ray operation; proficiency in taking intraoral and extraoral images using X-ray equipment Knowledge of infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures, healthcare infection prevention and control expertise, and aseptic technique Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery cases Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies strictly while managing sensitive medical documentation and records Join us if you're passionate about providing outstanding patient care in a vibrant team environment!
