Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by assisting with clinical procedures, managing dental instruments, and supporting the overall workflow of the practice. Your expertise will help ensure smooth operations, uphold clinical confidentiality, and promote a welcoming environment for our patients. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Perform chairside assisting duties such as preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing dental instruments, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records using Dentrix software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Support patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing post-treatment instructions with clarity and empathy. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following infection control procedures including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures in compliance with healthcare infection prevention standards. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry practices and clinical procedures. Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix for managing medical records and patient information. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Skilled in dental instrument processing, dental sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols. Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Familiarity with advanced dental equipment including 3D scanners and digital imaging tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment such as four-handed dentistry setups. Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced dental clinic setting. Pay:
$15.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per week
