Job Summary Join our dynamic team as an Orthodontic Clinical Assistant, where your expertise will help create beautiful smiles and improve patient confidence! In this vital role, you will assist the orthodontist with patient care, manage clinical procedures, and ensure a smooth workflow within our busy orthodontic practice. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist orthodontist during procedures such as bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency. Take dental X-rays, including intraoral images and 3D scans, adhering strictly to dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) ensuring accurate documentation of treatment plans, progress notes, and medical history in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about orthodontic appliances, and offering post-treatment instructions to ensure comfort and understanding. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while processing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment, and managing infection control protocols aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards. Skills Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices relevant to orthodontics. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection prevention management. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Familiarity with medical documentation standards and medical records management in compliance with HIPAA. $22.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 32.0 per week
